Mother Teresa’s Prayer to Mary
Mary, Mother of Jesus,
give me your Heart,
so beautiful, so pure,
so Immaculate,
so full of love and humility,
that I may be able to receive Jesus
in the Bread of Life,
love Him as You loved Him
and serve Him as you served Him,
in the distressing disguise of the
poorest of the poor.

Mother Teresa’s “Flying Novena”
(For the quick intercession of the Virgin Mary, Mother Teresa was known to pray ten “Memorare” prayers in a row to the Blessed Mother. She often used this novena for urgent or dire needs when full, several-days-long petitions were not possible. Ten “Memorares” are prayed for the “Flying Novena” because Mother Teresa always added a tenth “Memorare” prayer immediately after praying the novena in thanksgiving for the Blessed Virgin Mary’s intercession.)
Memorare (repeated ten times for the “Flying Novena”)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help,
or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.
Prayer to our Lady of Lourdes
Ever Immaculate Virgin Mother of Mercy,
Health of the sick, refuge of sinners, Comforter of the afflicted,
you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings;
look with mercy on me.
By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes,
you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary,
whence you dispense your favors;
and already many sufferers have obtained the cure for their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal.
I come, therefore, with complete confidence to implore your maternal intercession.
Obtain, O loving Mother, the grant of my requests.
Through gratitude for your favors,
I will endeavor to imitate your virtues,
that I may one day share your glory. Amen.

Dear mother, we love you.
We thank you for your promise to help us in our need.
We trust in your love that dries our tears and comforts us.
Teach us to find our peace in your son, Jesus, and bless us every day of our lives.

A shrine full of trust, hope, and love of Jesus growing stronger each day.

O Immaculate Mother,
who are a sign of certain hope and comfort to everyone,
help us to let ourselves be attracted by your immaculate purity.
Your beauty Tota Pulchra, as we sing today assures us
that the victory of love is possible; indeed, that it is certain.
It assures us that grace is stronger than sin,
and that redemption from any form of slavery is therefore possible.
Yes, O Mary, help us to believe with greater trust in good,
to wager on giving freely, on service, on non-violence, on the power of the truth.
Encourage us to be alert, not to give into the temptation of easy evasions,
to face reality and its problems with courage and responsibility.

O Maria,
madre di Gesù,
dammi il tuo cuore,

Novena d’Emergenza di Madre Teresa
(Per la rapida intercessione della Vergine Maria, Madre Teresa era nota per pregare dieci preghiere “Memorare” di fila alla Beata Madre. Spesso usava questa novena per bisogni urgenti o di emergenza quando non erano possibili petizioni complete, lunghe diversi giorni. Si pregano dieci “Memorares” per la “Novena d’Emergenza” perché Madre Teresa aggiungeva sempre una decima preghiera “Memorare” subito dopo la novena in ringraziamento per l’intercessione della Beata Vergine Maria.)

Ricordati, o piissima Vergine Maria,
non essersi mai udito al mondo che alcuno
abbia ricorso al tuo patrocinio,
implorato il tuo aiuto,
chiesto la tua protezione e sia stato abbandonato.

Vergine delle Vergini,

Preghiera a Nostra Signora di Lourdes
O Vergine Immacolata, Madre di Misericordia,

degnati di volgere su di me uno sguardo propizio a mio sollievo e conforto.
Con l’apparire nella grotta di Lourdes,
hai voluto ch’essa divenisse un luogo privilegiato,
da dove diffondere le tue grazie,
e già molti infelici vi hanno trovato il rimedio alle loro infermità spirituali e corporali.

Maria, Madre amabilissima,

La tua Bellezza, Tota Pulchra, cantiamo quest’oggi,
ci assicura che è possibile la vittoria dell’amore; anzi, che è certa;
ci assicura che la grazia è più forte del peccato,
e dunque è possibile il riscatto da qualunque schiavitù.
Sì, o Maria, tu ci aiuti a credere con più fiducia nel bene,
a scommettere sulla gratuità, sul servizio, sulla non violenza, sulla forza della verità;
ci incoraggi a rimanere svegli, a non cedere alla tentazione di facili evasioni,
ad affrontare la realtà, coi suoi problemi, con coraggio e responsabilità.
